HDQD English Drama

Recently, the pupils in Grade 5 undertook the huge challenge of performing William Shakespeare's 'Macbeth'. 

This is a complex story about a man named Macbeth who would do anything to become king of Scotland. Three witches tell the Scottish general Macbeth that he will be King of Scotland. Encouraged by his wife, Macbeth kills the king, becomes the new king, and kills more people out of paranoia. Civil war erupts to overthrow Macbeth, resulting in more death.

During the online learning period, the pupils were introduced to the story of Macbeth and were able to watch an animation of the play.

Upon returning to school, the pupils were able to audition for a major part in the production. After being selected, the pupils begun rehearsals where they did a fantastic job of portraying their given characters. 

In terms of costumes, the students were given a budget to select their own costumes and teachers chose their preferred option. The pupils did a great job of choosing appropriate costumes!

Overall, the play was a success and the staff and pupils were extremely proud with the result!
