Anti-Bullying at HDQD

Last week was Anti-Bullying Week at HDQD. Over the course of the week the children discussed the meaning of bullying in class and in a special assembly. They also completed a variety of different activities in the classroom where they learnt how to identify bullying and about the different forms it can take. Our focus this year was on the power of kindness in the fight against bullying.

The children also discussed and learnt about the best ways to deal with bullying. If bullying should occur, all pupils at HDQD should feel empowered to report the incident, knowing that they will be listened to and that there will be a prompt and effective action taken.

Throughout the week children have been taking part in discussions in class, writing about how we can spread kindness around the school, making posters and writing kind words about their classmates.

It would be a good idea to talk to your children about some of the concepts we have covered this week. For instance, discussing the importance of kindness and how we can spread it around our home, school, and community.
